In an effort to keep you informed, here are the definitions:

GUTS – Is arriving home late after a night out with the guys, being met by your wife with a broom, and having the Guts to ask: ‘Are you still cleaning, or are you flying somewhere?’

BALLS – Is coming home late after a night out with the guys, smelling of perfume and beer, lipstick on your collar, slapping your wife on the butt and having the Balls to say: ‘You’re next, Chubby.’

I hope this clears up any confusion on the definitions.

Medically, speaking there is No difference in the outcome. Both result in death.

After WP2.7, all upgrading process can be done automatically. Mine worked well up until version 2.8 and then it started having problems. I can’t upgrade to version 2.9 and now can’t seem to auto upgrade to version 3.0.

Oh well, as long as it runs properly, I don’t mind upgrading it manually. But I hope I won’t be having any more problem(s) after version 3.0.

On the side note, WP3.0 is AWESOME!

It is even more than the site visit that I received for a whole year. I like it. I really do. At least I’m gaining more traffic and I’m sure to be writing more up-to-date blog(s) in relevance to the current issues. I know, that is one of the most effective way to gain traffic for any website. From the image above, you can see the difference in my web traffic.

Big jump eh? But yeah, it only lasted for a few days. Now it’s back to “normal” mode.

Something I read in my Facebook this morning really pissed me off. I’m sure by now most of you have heard about the accident that happened early this morning (3rd June 2010) at around 3am in Taman Cheras Pertama. The news even came out on national TV (TV3) for the 1.30pm bulletin.

The accident was very bad, but that’s not the main issue that pissed me off. It’s about a guy who witnessed the accident was trying to help a helpless girl who got stuck in her about-to-catch-fire vehicle, went to BHPetrol (BHP) station in Taman Cheras Pertama to borrow their fire extinguisher to put out the flame. But he was chased away by 2 of the petrol station attendants and they did NOTHING at all to help.

The poor girl who was stuck in her vehicle died in the fire.

FUCK BHP!!!!! FUCK BHP!!! why? let me tell you!!

this morning approx 3.20am, at Cheras Tmn Pertama roundabout,

saw a freak accident, involving a Vios, Myvi and a Lorry.

im one the first badge who arrive, mean it just happen maybe seconds ago.

Vios believe to be turtle and badly damaged. When im passing by the vios, rear passenger started to pull out the front driver and front passenger.

then when i pass the Myvi, the car was totally sardine. Heard one girl was yelling cos piined inside. I stop my car then run towards the myvi to offer a hand while calling 999 emergency line to request for ambulance and bomba.

then saw fire spark at the engine bay of myvi. while still on the phone with emergency line to provide more details, i run back to my car and drive to BHP station which is just less than 500m away from the scene.

then i request for the fire extingusher from the attendant which is kept inside. There was 4 extingusher on the ground. But the attendant refuse to pass to me.

the BHP attendant claimed dat the door cant be open.

then i shout at him, i need it! i want it! someone is pinned inside the car and its started to burn!

then the BHP attendant keep repeating he kenot borrow and open the door.

then i was like WTF! if ur kiosk is burning can u come out? then he replied yes.

then he still say he kenot open the door. Then he say his boss wont allowed to borrow. WTF!!!

then i started to amuk kicking the kiosk and punching the glass of the kiosk.

i even throw my IC to him say that if im dun return u report police.

i saw i borrow.. if i use it i will pay for it. then he keep on just smile at me.

then he ask another partner to come out. Then i start shouting and yelling at them with bad words saying dat if the girl dies you two are the murderer.

then the 2nd BHP attendant shout back at me.

i demand for their names, i told them i would complain bout them,

then the 2nd attendant copy down my number plate and said that all my acts been recorded on CCTV and he gonna report to police tumoro. I challenged him.

then i drove off back to the scene.. the car was totally burning and the poor girl was burn alive inside.

then i spoke to the Bomba and PDRM how many casualties was inside. they told me one girl.

Then i spoke to PDRM about the incident happen in BHP.. then the policemen also scold with anger WTF with them.. if i could get the fire extingushier.. the girl might be saved.

then the Policemen ask me to go police station to report a cover about the BHP, and he assured me that the stupid BHP wont get to report on me.

Personally i would like to ask, how much does 4 fire extingusher cost? isit more expensive than a life?

would like to ask the BHP petrol station’s boss! u cant afford to lose 4 fire extingusher then u better closed down your station!!!! Fuck you boss!!!!

and this is to BHP MALAYSIA!! seens your procedure to keep all safety gadget inside the kiosk… if anything happen during refueling… is your attendant gonna open the door to help? seens he claimed that the door cant be open after hours??

FUCK YOU BHP!!! FUCK YOU!!!

i personally from now on will boycott BHP… i dont know how about you all!!!

gonna give BHP HQ a call tumoro… see what the fuck will they say about this kind of safety measurement they have!!!!!

It is very sad to know that some Malaysians are selfish of their own things. So what? One fire extinguisher is enough to put out the fire. How much can that one cost? If they are human, they would have brain to think, all simple and logic sense. Sad to know that they don’t have any. They should be punished for their selfish acts. Probably, their boss too for being so stingy.

Let us all boycott BHP, if not all BHP, let’s just boycott BHP Taman Cheras Pertama! See what if the station is burned down and no one to give them fire extinguishers or call the fire department. See how would they feel.

But during those times, a basic DSLR camera would cost a bomb. Not cheap at all. But thanks to rapid changes in digital age, the price of a basic entry level DSLR camera has dropped tremendously. One can even own a basic DSLR camera starting from only RM1600. Of course, it has to be a Sony (A230).

Next in line for a basic DSLR camera are the Canon 1000D (RM1899) and the Nikon D3000 (RM1950). Price can be cheaper, depending on the reseller.

With all these cameras selling at affordable prices, I should be able to start saving in order to own one…finally.

I have done my research over the years of which DSLR camera to use. I have played around with the Canon 1000D and 50D, and admired the 500D. I have used Nikon D60 (thank you hunny) and tried the awesome Nikon D90 together with D5000. From the basic entry level to the mid-range intermediate cameras. I fell in love with each of them for their own unique features.

It would be a difficult final choice for me when I decide which one I should get. I’ve always loved Nikon. My dream camera is the D90. But the noise reduction feature in the EOS 50D or any Canon EOS for that matter, made me think twice, or three times over.

Okay. Now I need a camera. Fast. I know there are some photography jobs that are coming my way in these few months. But I don’t actually have a camera of my own. The Nikon D60 I’m using now does not belong to me. Although I’m able to use it most of the time, I don’t feel good knowing that I don’t actually own one. So my confidence level dropped a little bit there.

So, in order to own a camera in short period of time, I may buy the Canon 1000D from a friend of mine who rarely uses the camera. I can say that the camera is under-utilised at this moment. Buying the camera from a friend, means I’m able to make monthly payments. Which is a good thing. I offered to buy it for RM1500, so that would be RM500 each month for three months. Once agreed, I should be having it very soon.

Canon EOS 1000D

But I won’t stop there.

A DSLR camera, is also an investment. Owning one means, more photography jobs, also means more income which leads to more savings to buy a better and (hopefully) final mid-range/intermediate camera. So I consider my first initial “investment” as a stepping stone to bigger and better job opportunities, as part-time basis of course.

Price for Nikon DSLR cameras has dropped recently. And a new Nikon D90, which is my favourite, cost about RM3300 now. That is the latest price that I’ve checked recently. I have been admiring, loving and eager to own this masterpiece since it was launched. To me, it is my ultimate dream camera.

Nikon D90

The D90 has everything professional built into it, but yet it is also an intermediate user-friendly camera. The quality of photos that comes out from this baby are simply beautiful. Everything about this camera is, to me, near perfect. So being a die-hard Nikon user, there is no doubt that this will be my future camera.

Pentax K-7

Why, oh why, do I have to read about Pentax cameras? So Pentax came into the picture and now I’m a fan. Sigh…definitely not enough loyalty to Nikon there.

So after reading reviews after reviews about the Pentax K-7, I realised that this camera holds a big potential to be a strong contender to both Canon and Nikon alike. It is dubbed as a rival to Canon EOS 50D and Nikon D300/300s, which are both mid-range semi-pro cameras. Price is about RM4k.

Pentax has been around in SLR industry since the era of old film cameras. So there is no doubt that Pentax has all the experience needed to surge ahead and be on par with Canon and Nikon. Sony is a newcomer in DSLR, so I’m not worried about them. But Sony’s Alpha series are gaining grounds with the rest of the “seniors” rather quickly.

One thing about me is that I have this tendency to use or try something different that other people seldom use. I like to be different from the norm. I know there are some loyal Pentax users in Malaysia. I can seek their assistance when I need it. I know Pentax is not as popular as Canon or Nikon. So what? I’ve always convince myself time and time again that beautiful shots came from the person behind the camera, not the camera itself.

So once again, I’m stuck in the same dilemma. Which one to choose?

Don’t be surprise if I decide on the Pentax. Coz I am so loving it right now.

Last weekend was more of a photography weekend for me becoz I took lots of photos. First, the DCIM Fair is on in MVEC Mid Valley and second, I went for an afternoon photowalk around KL’s town center. I went for the photowalk on Saturday 15th May 2010 and to DCIM show the next day. I wanted to see the show at MidValley first but I guess there will be too many people on Saturday. Besides, the weather was very good for a photowalk that Saturday afternoon.

The photowalk was organised by Pesona Image. This is the second edition of the photowalk that he did, the first was the Jalan2 Amek Gambar – Chow Kit. It was a good experience the first time, but the second time was much better simply because we have a theme to follow. The theme for the photowalk this time was Shadows & Reflections with only 50mm prime lens.

We had a group photograph taken before the photowalk. Everyone was lively and happy. If only I have the photo AFTER the photowalk, you can see all of them half dead, like zombies. LOL!

That Saturday afternoon was very hot and sunny. Hence why we were all feeling very tired after the walk.

Like I said, the theme was Shadows & Reflections, so we all have to take photos that has any of the two criteria or both. And we also have to use only with a 50mm prime lens. Alas, I don’t have a prime lens. So I set the focal length on my lens to 50mm and shoot. As long as I maintain close to 50mm, I’m safe within the needed criteria.

We definitely had a great time walking around KL town that day. Lotsa fun! Met some new friends too. More of these types of outing coming up. I’m sure by then we will have more people joining in.

DCIM Show – Mid Valley Exhibition Centre

On Sunday, we went to another photo outing. But it wasn’t another photowalk. It was the event I was waiting for, the DCIM Show. It showcases all things photography. From digital camera to DLSR camera, from small accessories like lens cap to large items like super-ginormous telephoto lenses. Basically, I was like a kid in a candy store…or toy store…which ever.

I went over to Mid Valley with @rainingheaven and @aiko25. I told @aiko25 that she can get her Canon 1000D’s sensor all cleaned up and the firmware upgraded. She said no more, only the word “let’s go”. I took our baby Nikon for sensor cleaning too.

The cleaning process for Nikon doesn’t take more than 10 minutes. But at the Canon’s service counter, @aiko25 had to wait for 30 minutes before she can pick up her camera. Hmm…maybe because of the firmware upgrade. No upgrades for baby Nikon tho, only cleaning.

After done with cleaning, I took some “test” shots.

Okay. I can spot some differences in the photos. It is slightly sharper and vibrant in colour. Me likes!

I had some trouble removing some specks of dust on the sensor the other day. I dare not touch or do anything to it other than puffing air to it using a handheld air pump. I’m happy now that the sensor is cleaned, done by a pro, all that for free!

I must mark on the calendar for future events like these…both photowalks and exhibitions.
